Acidbomb is a fifty level puzzle game where you must find the pistons used to trigger a bomb and defuse them before time runs out. There are many bombs scattered around the world, from biological bombs that have hair-sensitive triggers to napalm bombs that are exploding at the seams, to nuclear warheads that have challenged even the highest trained bomb defusal agent.

This game is like Minesweeper done right, Minesweeper made exciting. You are a bomb expert charged with defusing mines, and each level is a different bomb situation. The bomb threats start off small and become gradually more important and potentially disastrous, which adds tension.

There is a lot of tension or suspense in general, this game is great at producing that, because in the back of your mind you kind of wonder if you got the mine flags right nor not -- and as the countdown counts down, the tension builds up; it's a strong feeling. I think the countdown at the end isn't a bad thing at all (as another review proposes) but crucial to the emotional experience.

After you "get" the gameplay mechanics it's simple, there is a method you can use to solve any puzzle if you think quickly enough, but even after that, the game is worth seeing through to the end just for the little story bits that appear when you select a level. The only real flaw the game has is that once you do figure out that method, the game is simple.

Acidbomb is a puzzle of the Minesweeper family: Knowing the number of bombs in lines, columns and/or diagonals, identify their position. The "different bomb types" consist of "do it fast", "do it blind" or "do it three times in a row". As in Minesweeper, once you get the strategy down pat, a high score is simply a matter of fast clicking.

All in all, an average puzzle game saved only by the decent art and great music. Nitpick: Having to wait ten seconds whenever you finish disarming a bomb.
