Teknopants’ love song to the glory days of the Genesis and Gunstar Heroes, Action Fist! is one of the most glorious, professionally done indie games I’ve had the honor of playing. The story is nonsensical-yet-badass – for one of the heroes, the villain has stolen his scarf, his girl, and his dog, and no one… no one… steals his scarf. The controls are fluid and responsive, options like wall jumping coming off very naturally. Sound is solid, graphics crisp, and the gameplay…
Ooh, the gameplay! Between a weapon-combo system straight out of Gunstar Heroes, a match-the-color-to-deal-more-damage system that Ikaruga clearly inspired, and giant, wonderful bosses, Action Fist! is a delight to play.
I don’t often get a game that I can recommend without any reservations, but Action Fist! qualifies. Do yourself a favor and blow some stuff up.
The game was so unique! You see, I definitely have to agree with Mr Seth; this game is very similar to “Gunstar Heroes”, though it has more of an 80’s-ish James Bond-like feel to it. The storyline was downright awesome, and the game play is rather interesting! Sadly though; the game ran slowly on my computer. Apparently, there is a total of four playable characters, but two of them you have to unlock. But other than that, it’s one awesome game!
