Game Description

Alien Hominid began on the popular Adobe Flash website, Newgrounds, in August, 2002. It is often referred to as the Alien Hominid "prototype" by The Behemoth. The online version was programmed by Tom Fulp, who owns Newgrounds; while the 2D artwork was done by Dan Paladin (who also goes by the online alias "Synj"). This game featured a little yellow alien who has been shot down by the FBI and crash-landed on the Earth, and must retrieve his now stolen spacecraft from the FBI. Eventually the game was remade for the Xbox 360 as a full-featured run n' gun shooter, in the vein of Contra and Metal Slug.

Monical 5 Great and challenging game
gsilverfish, you seemed to have some trouble wording your review, so I took the liberty of correcting it for accuracy :

“I’m gonna go out and say it, this game is really hard. I love the look of it, I love the designs, I love that it’s crawling with bosses. But when it actually comes to playing it, it’s just too difficult for me to handle. The enemys shoot lots of brightly colored easy to see bullets, but its still very hard. I started it on easy mode, where they give you tons of lives and a force field so anyone can beat the game, but apparently not me! Much as I was looking forward to this one, when it comes right down to it I’d rather spend that time with games easy enough for me to beat.”

The bottom line is Alien hominid is a great game, I played it on normal and then hard, and it’s not cheap or unfair. I rarely died and was never frustrated.

Co-op is brilliantly done. Each player has their own difficulty setting. So I can play on hard with 3 lives and have my friend who has never played the game on easy which adds lots of lives and a force field. This along with the large selection of wonderful unlockable hats you can use to identify yourself in multilayer makes for a great co-op experience.
