<body>Other games make you collect coins or send you on defined missions to make you explore the game world. Not so Aquaria. This game's underwater paradise is so unbelievably beautiful that it invokes the desire to see every corner of it. Most of the time spent playing Aquaria, you will simply swim around and admire the beauty of the environment, the creatures and the general atmosphere.

This isn't everything, of course, or it would not really fit the definition of a game. You will also engage in combat with enemies which feels like a shooter and can get pretty hot. More relaxing are the puzzles that really challenge your imagination because you are never sure what exactly you have to do to solve them. A highlight and somewhat of a combination of those two things are the boss enemies which are mostly huge, challenging, and feature hidden vulnerabilities.

If you need to be told what to do, this is certainly not a game for you. If you appreciate the beauty of the game world and are of a more adventurous nature, you have to play Aquaria. Amazing beings, ancient secrets and beautiful scenery are waiting for you to explore them!</body>

<body>Hype is wrong. A game without owls in it can never get hyped so high and stay there even after the release.
I am sorry. I am honestly so sorry for not liking Aquaria, but I can't find any way to praise it as other people do. Yes, it does have probably the best graphics in the history of indie gaming. Sure the game is very professional and stylish, but this isn't the main point of any game, at least I always believed it isn't.
The world is so open; you can do anything you want to and yet there is almost no reason to. The fight system is inovative and graphically perfect, but it just doesn't feel like I am actually fighting, I feel more like shooting in a wall with health bar above it.
My view of what has Aquaria become is simple: There was an idea, an amazing idea to create a big game, sort of what GTA was for commercial games. There were big ambitions and pretty much everything was going well, but in all the candies in Aquaria, they forgot the main one - gameplay.

Again, I am sorry, I guess this won't be the most popular review of this game in here, but this is how I feel about it.</body>
