Game DescriptionIn Capstar II you control a little space pod piloted by none other than “The Invincible Randy.” Unfortunately, your pod’s not so invincible, so as you go through each of the 16 stages, you’ll have to avoid banging into walls, or getting blown up by various traps. The game controls much like Sub-Terrania (Sega Genesis) or Solar Jetman (NES), with the difference being that gravity can pull on you from any of the cardinal directions. |

This is a solid little game, and goes by fast. Each stage is only a couple screens in size at most, but surprisingly intricate, often with more than one way to get through and quite often benefiting from multiple playthrus as you become more skilled.
But the real appeal of this game for me, I will not lie, is the over-the-top music. It suits the game perfectly and adds tremendous character to already strong visuals. Far and away my favorite from Nigoro as of yet.
This game contains extremely well done music, and the 2-D graphics are quite nice as well, though what concerns me is that the controls are a bit too awkward for the average gamer, and in fact, it may take time to get used to it, but I’m not entirely sure. In response to this, I’ll give it a 4/5, for effort. Strangely, even though it’s an indie game, it reminds me of this “Codename: Kids Next Door” flash game on the Cartoon Network website, known as “Operation Tommy”, which is why this headline fits this.
