Now, I’m not a big foe of the repetitive – I like the Dynasty Warriors series, and you’ll see that I liked the ultra-repetitive madness of Crush!. So why did I give this game three stars when I gave Crush! four? I’m not entirely sure. The pixelly graphics of Death Worm are more pleasing, and the controls are a good sight better. But there’s just something… missing in Death Worm. I don’t know what it is, obviously, or I’d be explaining it in depth, hoping against hope that the designers would read my little ranting here and put whatever it was in Death Worm Two.
And I do hope that there will be a DW2, don’t get me wrong.
DW still sits on my hard drive, and when I get the hankering, I boot it up for a good round of worm munching mayhem, giggle myself silly, and then promptly forget about it for a week or two. It’s a good game, and for less than four megs, it’s worth a shot. Your mileage may vary, and I hope that it varies on the high end for you.
