It’s a very simple game: you’re running from a black cloud of doom that represents the end of dinosaurs. As you run, you pick up eggs for points you can spend to increase your stats while dodging meteorites, avoiding tar pits, and climbing over other scared dinosaurs.
The experience is only mildly challenging, but it’s really quite enjoyabe. As the game progresses, it turns up the feeling of tension and you start to wonder how the game ends… I mean, the dinosaurs died right? Well I thought they handled the ending well.
So check it out, you can play it in your browser AND there’s a multiplayer mode where you can race with others. It was a very well executed game!
“Dino Run” is an 8-bit game where you have to play as a dinosaur who tries to avoid extinction, on Earth, while gathering as many eggs, as possible and necessary. Also, you can eat certain other, smaller animals that get in the way (since you play as a predator dinosaur) and you can jump on and over others. Cool? You bet! This game has a good, Atari-like feel to it. So, if you like retro-style game involving dinosaurs, you’d definitely like this one. If you don’t know who “Doug the Dino” is, you’ll have to watch the “Homestar Runner” cartoon.
