If you dont understand Roguelikes, this game is where to start. With the sounds, game play mechanics and attitude it feels very much doom, possibly even more doom than doom, but its in ascii..

This is a sci fi RL where you desend through roughly 20-25 levels (i think) of one screen levels to defeat the demons of hell. The one line story is cribed from doom, as are the weapons and gear, enemies, and soundfiles.

there is something supremely satisfying about chainsawing down mutants, and shotgunning demons in ascii.

The game is well polished, stable, and will fit on your pen drive so you can play in the office. The difficulty level is reasonable. Things get tougher past level 15, but it still remains far easier than most other roguelikes.
