<description>An abstract flying game. Very economical in its design. The inherent frustration is balanced by instantaneous reloading after death.</description>

<body>I am not what you would call a hardcore gamer. I never beat Battletoads, and always play my shooters on the Preschool level (if Spineless Pansy isn't an option). I can't complete a single level of Clean Asia - but that doesn't stop me from trying, of course.

The strange thing is, I beat this game. Even though it has a great big "difficult" tag. I can't fully explain why this is.

Perhaps the minimalistic, vector-style graphics hypnotized me and forced me to become more skilled. Perhaps I have a subconscious psychic connection to Messhof, and he controlled me. Most likely, I think, the game is so much fun that the difficulty is counteracted.

Please don't get me wrong; I could tell this was not an easy game while I was playing. There were several places where I died probably several hundred times, then got frustrated and quit. But I would always come back the next day and force my way through. It was fiendishly frustrating, but at the same time clearly possible.

I would like to comment on the plot, but I don't remember it. I don't think I understood it at the time, so I ignored it. Apparently, it's very cryptic and deep. But I didn't get it.

And here is the obligatory conclusion: Download this game. (Geez, I think all of my review say that in the last paragraph...) Play it. Play *all* of it. If I can do it, you can. You won't regret it. </body>

<body>Messhof could be described as &#8220;excentric game developer&#8221;.
Who knows what unknown force forces him to develop games with aim to torture people, maybe the satan himself.
But the satan also sometimes gives him magical power so Messhof can develop a creepy, but unique and brilliant game &#8211; Flywrench.

I can imagine Flywrench as a nice colourful innovative flash game, which you hear about few times, play it, have fun with it, but in a month, it is long-forgotten (and after a year all the &#8220;big&#8221; gaming sites notice it and introduce it in &#8220;news&#8221;, but that&#8217;s different story). But it wouldn&#8217;t be him it he didn&#8217;t make it a unique experience.

The gameplay is basicly classic sfcavish &#8220;im falling, use the up arrow&#8221; with few enhancements, creating a unique gameplay. What makes this game so unusual and impossible-to-forget is the minimalistic graphical style, which corresponds with the totally creepy (but in my opinion brilliant) background sounds. You won&#8217;t believe me until you play this though. </body>

<body>Gut Wrenchingly hard game play that constantly keeps you coming back for more.

Flywrench has a super unique game play mechanic. It's almost impossible to describe; just play it for yourself to find out how it works.

Once you learn the game play the game continues at a nice pace. Not growing to hard to fast but not staying so easy that it gets dull. A strange storyline, cryptic graphics, and nice music make this game a must have for sure.

The only true complaint: to short!</body>

<body>As soon as I started Flywrench up and heard the screeching "music" I knew I was in for a quality Messhof experience.

But I didn't know just how big of an experience I was getting into! This game, while difficult, will not let you put it down until you get past the level. I was in this dilemma until I finished the game all in one sitting, never once getting frustrated!

Upon reaching death you're quickly loaded back to the start of the level pretty much forcing you to "give it one more go", which of course turns into a vicious circle. And every death seems deserved and completely fair causing you to think on more than one occasion, "wow, I was so close that time, I'll get it this time for sure".

The graphics are largely pleasing and the "music" aids the atmosphere. Seriously, if you were to hear the music anywhere else you'd be incredibly displeased and start covering your ears but in Flywrench it's more than enjoyable.

Now, with simple "get to the end" style games level by level you don't really expect a very meaningful story. But there is! It'll keep you entranced and wondering what little snippet of dialogue you'll be getting next.

If you haven't already started downloading this game by now then do it! </body>
