There’s this old game called Solar Jetman on the NES. Gravitron 2’s mechanics are very similar to Solar Jetman’s: thrust, gravity, rotate. The gameplay is similar as well, you have to go exploring and do something and then escape.

The problem I had with Gravitron 2 is that it felt too derivative of Solar Jetman. Now I’m sure that most people who play this game wouldn’t have played that NES game so it wouldn’t bother them, so for them it’d all be new, but for me it just kept reminding me of how great Solar Jetman was and made me want to go play that instead.

Which isn’t to say that Gravitron 2 isn’t a good game on its own: certainly it’s worth the five bucks. And its graphics are very nice, I’m a big fan of the glowy abstract vector art aesthetic. So definitely check this game out – just, check out Solar Jetman too.
