Game DescriptionIn this text-based game, you control Mute Lawton, a grizzled gunslinger in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. There's an execution at noon, and it's up to you to shoot your way forward until you stop it... On the way you'll meet a motley band of cyborgs and mutants, who - in typical on-rails shooter style - you'll have to defeat by learning their patterns, moving in and out of cover and aiming for weak spots. |

It works as a series of stages, each of which is an increasingly difficult gun battle puzzle. The main mechanic is taking cover and knowing exactly when, and what, to shoot.
Unfortunately it still has the problem all text adventure games seem to have: there is a contrast or incompatibility for me between jump through the hoop style puzzles and freedom of exploration. I kind of wish more text adventure games would give up these impassable one-solution puzzles completely, for me they distract from the fun of playing this type of game. But others have other priorities, many people enjoy solving these kinds of puzzles.
The puzzles in this game aren’t particularly obscure, and there is a hint system so you won’t get stuck, but it still feels like it hinders the potential of the game to be structured in this way. I’d much rather there have been multiple alternative ways to complete each stage rather than exactly one way that you need to figure out.
