<body>In a word, Knytt is a beautiful little game. It's an exploration type game - there is not much action, so it might not be for everyone. The game engine is simple but quite functional; all you do is explore. However I find that to be enough. The environments are minimalistic and often rather bare, but they are varied and pretty and sometimes populated with charming (and usually harmless) creatures. I find it a very relaxing experience, and I go back to play it now and again even though I've seen all there is to see.

I also love the ambient sound and the little bits of music. I think sound is one of this game's strongest aspects, which is unusual.</body>

<body>Starting this game up the first time I said, "Oh! This look like it could be good!", and this game did not disappoint. The style in this game is just so... right. That's the only way I can say it. Everything looks exactly as it should and it is so beautiful. The music is awesome as well, not too ambient but not making it feel like you are listening to music while playing the game. They are not two separate things they are just one experience. It really adds to the flow of the game.
The verdict: *****</body>

<body>Knytt is a very casual game. The art is simple and beautifully pixelated. Although the art doesn't use any fancy technology it is definitely gorgeous in a minimalistic sense. The ambient music is simple and perfect. The controls are simple and responsive as well.

Unfortunately, the game may be too casual. While playing the game I often dozed off and felt like I was sleeping while playing the game. The game wasn't really a game for me. I didn't have no sense of accomplishment, no excitement for what was to come next, and the puzzles don't exactly get harder either. The enemy AI is stale and predictable (sorry for having high standards) and dying in the game is such a small penalty that I would rather "trial and error" obstacles than think it out. The point of the game is to run and gather items that let you access other areas so you can gather items in the new area that will help you gather items in the next area. While gathering these items and abilities were something I was excited for, the items proved to be pretty simple and boring and a few times I felt like I was running back and forth (like an MMO) in this beautiful world with slight upgrades.

I definitely recommend "Within a Deep Forest" over this game which is another game created by Nifflas.</body>

<body>How can a game without a proper gameplay get into TigDB's top ten? No more than one word is needed to answer this question: Nifflas.
Knytt is beautiful, in a minimalistic way of beauty. There are no breath-taking sceneries, or sparkling effect. Knytt is about exploring a magical, living world (also by living, I am not talking about the wannabe-high AI from commercial games). Nifflas is also master of ambient music, which sounds in the game very rarely, but when it does, thats the moment when you love Knytt.</body>
