In 1974 Phil Ochs titled his debut album “All the News that’s Fit to Sing”. His point was the he was a kind of journalist-songwriter; everything he sang about was based on real events, contemporary events, things that people could and should read about and care about. It is perhaps said so often these days that it has become a truism, but nonetheless it bears repeating; Tarn Adams is the Phil Ochs of game design. With this game, he has produced the most realistic simulation of living conditions in modern America that has ever been imagined, that anyone has ever dared to lay down in cold, uncompromising code. He may not win friends by being so devoted to Truth, but for those who wish to know How Things Really Are, there is no finer guide – not in WikiLeaks, not even in the Encyclopaedia Dramatica – of how things truly stand today. For those who have the fortitude to drink the truth down straight, no chaser, this game is indispensable.
