Game Description

In Liero, two worms fight each other to death for score (or frags) using a choice of five weapons from a total of 40 in a two-dimensional map. Most of the terrain, except for indestructible rocks, may be dug or destroyed by explosions. In addition to the weaponry, each player has a ninja rope which can be used to get to higher places and move faster through the map.

"Liero" is Finnish for earthworm.

4317 5 Most likely the best split-screen game ever
Take the famous Worms, make them realtime, but still include the multiplayer on one keyboard. What you’ll get is Liero.

You can hardly ever get better game to play with your nerd friend (being a nerd to enjoy this game is very important, since it is too unfriendly at the beginning for normal people). Give it a try, stay with it for at least hour and you’ll find that this game has no end of fun (and if you really do find the end after tons of fun, set the reload time to zero and you’ll definitely get few more hours out of it).

Tyranid 5 Real-Time Worms
I could post all sorts of beaming praise for Liero. I could say that the action is addictive, fast, and fun. I could point out the fact that there is an amazing spread of weapons that kicks the smeg out of every FPS known to man. I could praise the fact that the game is tiny, and has next to nil in the way of system requirements.

And I suppose I just did.

Do yourself a favor – if you like shooters, or action games in general, and you have a few friends to play with, download yourself a copy of Liero.
