Game Description

Phun is a 2d physics "playground" developed by Emil Ernerfeldt for his Master’s of Science Degree at Umeå University, Sweden. The game lets you create objects of any size or shape and then hook them up to springs, chains, and other objects (all the while tweaking variables like density, bounciness, and friction).

Shegoicon 4 Phun is FUN!
Any game that allows you to play around with physics in a controlled way SHOULD be fun. Phun definitely is. It can easily offer hours of entertainment, which is great because it’s free.

The interface is probably what gives Phun a lot of it’s value. It is very easy to create objects in the world and edit their behavior. You’ll be up and running in no time.

After those first few hours I started to realize some of the limitations of Phun. The fancier you try to get the more you’ll hit walls that you can’t build a catapult to break down (pun). This isn’t a big deal, and it’s even part of what makes it fun. Pushing the boundaries of Phun is rewarding and a little frustrating at the same time.

It is also quite helpful to have a fast computer, especially for water.
