Game Description

Platypus is a horizontally-scrolling shoot 'em up where you are flying the last ship of the F-27 Platypus fleet, and attempting to defend planet Mungola from Colossatropolis (which has become so overcrowded that its inhabitants are taking over Mungola for space and resources). The game is notable for its use of clay models for its artwork.

Although the game began as freeware, its creator, Anthony Flack, was contracted by Idigicon, a budget software publisher, to finish the game. There is some controversy over Idigicon's handling of the game. Anthony himself, while admitting that the game's rights were handed over fairly, has said that Idigicon has "contributed the least to [Platypus's] success, while profiting the most."

Logo80 4 Play it with a friend
Platypus is a very simple and charming horizontal shooter with unique clay aesthetics. It’s not a ground breaking game by any means, and it suffers from a bit random difficulty balance. Still, good fun.

However, it’s really a huge blast to play, if you grab a friend and play the hotseat co-op. There’s a general lack of multiplayer shmups, and this one is very pretty and well made.

Avatar-default 4 Yes I agree
I think the previous reviewer is correct, the difficulty is a bit random. The game feels really smooth.

However, this is a great game to play from time to time during breaks, although with this game my break usually lasts 20 minutes more than it should.

oh yeh, and it’s cuuuuuuuute!
