Within a Deep Forest. For me, this is the furthest point where any game can ever get in awesomeness. If I had just one game which I could rate with six stars, it would be WaDP. All Nifflas’ qualities are shown there at their best. Beautiful world, excellent ambient music, pleasant puzzles, which feel so good when you solve them and so much more. Mainly, it is the gameplay that takes all these qualities and shoots them in the stars at hyperspeed, because platformer (and that is what WaDP is) never felt so good to play. Thank you Nifflas, once I get rich and famous, I’ll donate you NASA’s best computer for development.

How can a game without a proper gameplay get into TigDB’s top ten? No more than one word is needed to answer this question: Nifflas.Knytt is beautiful, in a minimalistic way of beauty. There are no breath-taking sceneries, or sparkling effect. Knytt is about exploring a magical, living world (also by living, I am not talking about the wannabe-high AI from commercial games). Nifflas is also master of ambient music, which sounds in the game very rarely, but when it does, thats the moment when you love Knytt.

I love Nifflas, as much it heterosexuality allows. It is funny how everybody was crazy about the original Knytt when it came out. It was a game without gameplay, but still, it is amongst the top ten in TigDB, even higher than my personal favourite, Within a Deep Forest. Well what would you think could come out when you take amazing game with no gameplay and add the gameplay.Knytt always was about exploring worlds. Knytt Stories kind of added challenge maps and all these things, but the main point of exploring world is still there. And god, it is a beautiful world. Nifflas connects his somehow minimalistic graphical style with amazing details as funny, cute, or just interesting animals in the Juni’s word.
I was stunned when I first played KS. My amazement lasted a long time, but eventually, it stopped. For me, Nifflas’ games are too magical to come in with editors, so that everybody can enhance the world. I played many fanmade levels and they’r really fun, but the magic of Juni’s story wasn’t there and I rather concentrated on another run trough WaDP =)

Amazing colourful graphics, addictive music, wonderfuly designed gameplay with great use of mouse, many bonuses and secrets, and fun story. All this made by one man. This game is the king who should be standing at the first place. It’s is not my favourite game, but it is simply flawless.
I found Noitu Love just few weeks ago, thanks to the TigDB and thank god for it.. I also absolutely love the name, Noitu Love :)

Cubes

Cubes is exactly what the description says: “a 3d Tron-style multiplayer game” and nothing more. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad. For those who are not familiar with the original Tron, you’re in a transportation device that leaves a solid trail behind it. And by solid, I mean rock solid. The goal is to survive as much as you can without crashing into others’ or your own trail. Now Cubes makes the game first-person, and adds a third dimension to the game, allowing you to go up and down, as well as left and right. The play-area is relatively small, if you leave through one border, you get back in through another (e.g. Asteroids), but that only makes the rounds tighter and more fun, since in only a matter of seconds, the trails will be everywhere, leaving it to your maneuvering skills. There’s also the addition of shooting, you can shoot the other players with your lasers, or the rockets you pick up during the round, which you can also use to tear down those trail-walls.There aren’t many servers or people online, but a game with 3 or 4 people is fun enough to play. There isn’t much lag, either. If you’re looking for a fun small game for your old PC, Cubes is a good way to go.
