Game DescriptionThe gameplay revolves around tricky platforming, and flipping switches to open the door to the next level. Except there’s one big twist that will make your mother cry. Every time you get to a new level you have to flip all the switches in each and everyone of the earlier levels again. So you have to make it all the way down to the bottom level, and start flipping the switches over and over. And over. |

The gameplay in Punishment 2 is pretty standard and safe. Simple platforming. While playing through this what really got me hooked though was the graphics and music.
The graphics have a very simple feel yet it’s so very inviting. And a simple but extremely helpful graphical change throughout the game is the changing background color. Before I forget to mention this as well, check out that jumping animation! It never gets old.
The music is also great. I found myself bobbing my head more than once. It gets more intense as the game goes on and it really fits the mood.
What makes this platformer so sadistic though is that you have to keep returning to the beginning to flip the switches. Whether or not that’s a turn off for you is your own tastes.
I absolutely love platformers and Messhof pulls Punishment 2 off great but doesn’t really introduce exciting and innovative elements.
