Truck Dismount

Truck Dismount is another example of a game that does what it does fairly well; simulating a person in a truck (or on a truck, or near a truck) smashing into a wall. The core gameplay is simple, just set up any ramps you want, position your victim, and sent the truck barreling forward. Then sit back and watch the carnage. Remarkably, it’s pretty addictive. I could do it for hours, or rather an hour, before getting tired of it and moving on to another pastime (see: Billy vs. SNAKEMAN, homework, girlfriend cuddling, and/or World of Goo).

Truck Dismount is a fairly quirky game by all accounts. Getting slowly crushed to death under the truck’s wheels can do less damage than a moderately jarring ride in the cab during a crash, making the damage system seem, oh, a tad bit arbitrary. Likewise, for a game that centers around crushing 3d ragdolls in the vein of Toribash, one would think that blood would be a necessity. Not so. While all these things are forgivable on their own, Truck Dismount is just sort of flimsy for a sandbox game. I found myself wishing I had more control over the elements, ability to set up larger ramps and do Evel Kenieval… keneeevel… karnevil… that idiot daredevil-style jumps.

Truck dismount is fun, yes, but it doesn’t last long. I suggest Toribash if you want a deeper, more satisfactory slaughtering of 3d ragdoll stickmen. 2/5.

Attention all gamers; this is certainly not a trucker’s dream come true! Anyways, what I’m saying is, this game isn’t really anything special, but it has rather unique and well done concept. The idea is simple; deal as much damage to the ragdoll as possible! the more points, the better. Nothing special, but not exactly a poor game.
