Game Description

White Butterfly is a vertical shoot 'em up with 3 stages. There are four playable ships (plus one unlockable one) - each ship has three different attacks. When all three have reached a new level, they all power up at once - this means that you will need to balance your use of them.

It’s fascinating when a developer’s unique game mechanics and philosophies carry over to their other games even when they are in completely different genres.

For example, in White Butterfly, the ship classes seem unbalanced. But, if you consider his work with Dungeon Crawl, you know that player classes aren’t meant to be balanced, but to give the player different play experiences and unique challenges.

The fact that your progress is saved according to ship type only emphasizes this point and makes the game far more replayable.

Highly recommended.

Avatar-default 5 Hard, but rewarding.
This game is unbelivable hard (especially if you made it after the first level), but also very balanced and addictive like hell. The combination of different ships and weapon systems make it neverending fun, to try and try out new strageties to beat the enemies. I would go so far to say, that this is somehow a secret masterpeace. Very good designed.
