Like most of MDickie’s games, the vast majority of players will be confused about what to do or how to proceed, see a bunch of people insanely running around and punching each other like madmen, and then, wanting to join in on the fun, the player starts to run around punch people too, only to get badly beaten up and find themselves laying on the ground, at which point they give up.

Unfortunately there’s a huge hidden underside of an iceberg of content waiting to be discovered in each of his games that most people will never see because of the lack of direction or explanation. His newer games get better with that, but this is an older one from his 2006 “season” so it’s particularly unhelpful to the player.

Only by reading his preview of the game do you learn that by repeatedly punching a bush you’ll be able to make a whip, which you can then use to repeatedly whip a tree to get some wood, which you can then use to build a weapon and repeatedly hit a rock to get rocks. It all makes very little sense, but eventually you can build enough tools to survive (your food and thirst meters constantly deteriorate without a steady supply of food and water), and maybe even escape the island.
