The graphics are styled in a retro cartoon kinda way, which is charming and fitting for the game. Not stellar, but definitely a great effort, and not distracting.
The sounds are very satisfying, especially the bassy explosions. The music is energized and fits the game play very well. Although there is not a variety of music it does not get old.
The one tarnish mark on this game is the controls. While very fluid, they are dated. You fire in the direction you are facing, and then you can move around while still firing at that angle. This is disappointing, as this game cries out for a twin-stick mode.
Game play is fast and frenzied, satisfying and addictive. The only flaw is with the control scheme, of which I am constantly aware during game play.
Hyper Princess Pitch offers enough challenge to keep you engaged for a very long time. With five difficulty modes (the hardest of which can only be described as insanity) this game is easy to get into and learn, yet will pin you to the wall when you’re ready for it.
So what the heck are you waiting for? Get this game RIGHT NOW, and get MORE EXPLOSIONS! Even if you aren’t a fan of the SmashTV / Robotron genre, I guarantee you’ll have fun with this one.
Note to Windows Vista and 7 users: use the Game Maker 5 version.

The graphics are great! Very cute, non-repetitive, inventive. Music and sound are very good quality and non-repetitive, but nothing spatacular. Controls are superb (when using a joystick), very usable with no rough edges.
The gameplay is very basic, with only a few changes in the for of power-ups. However, for the length of the game it is quite balanced. Combat and platforming remains interesting over the course of the (short) game.
The challange of the game is very low. In the early part of the game there is a sense of being the underdog, but you will quickly dominate every enemy you encounter. Save points are plentaful and fully restore your health, removing any fear of dying outside of a boss fight.
Speaking of boss fights, they are somewhat of a challange, althought the biggest challange you will have is figuring out how to harm the final boss.
Definately a great game, and well worth your time to play. I look forward to another game from these folks, or perhaps a content extension of this one.
Ninja Senki
(It’s one of those games that’s a bit too much to handle in a single sitting though, so you may want to keep the level select cheat in mind—left left left right right right down up down up on the menu screen)

Character graphics are great! Very fluid animations, varied enemies, cool items. The only problem is the background / structure tiles. The main castle tile set is a single texture with beveled edges. Very dull. The dungeon tile sets do vary, and are quite thematic.
Sound and music are great! I had no complaints, and the music does not get old after hours and hours. Also, music changes frequently.
Controls are superb, except you can’t jump off of a ladder. Not only is it annoying, it makes some of the rooms very hard to get through.
Hidden items are fun to find, and the bell item makes the process not frustrating. My only complaint is that most of the “hidden” items are very easy to figure out (with the bell).
Overall the game is not terribly challenging. The bosses are certainly the highlight of the game, and are the only time I’ve found myself having to load from a save.
Game play is satisfying n that, “Yup, it’s a Metroidvainia” kind of way. Mastering the game mechanics is not the focus: exploring the environment is. The game does try to add variety in the form of six sub-weapons, however none of these are very exciting or game-changing, and all of them are miss-able. The boomerang is somewhat broken (read: overly powerful).
On a personal note, this is a screen-flip game (like Zelda 1, but with instant screen transitions). I personally prefer scrolling games, but it does not really hinder the game that much.
Conclusion: It’s worth your time, but it’s no Zelda II.
